A Super 17th Century Oak West Country Wainscott Chair of fabulous golden colour, having nicely carved scrolling crest and interwoven pattern to the back with additional foliate carved seat rails. 
 
The arms are exceptionally bold, cut from thick sections of Oak, they have developed a wonderful burnished skin from years of handling. It''s wonderful to see the original drop over seat still in place. Four small fillets have been added to the base of the chair to level it at some stage otherwise the piece is in beautiful original condition and has not been lashed with the dark varnish as so many from this period have.
