A super mid 18th Century Oak Bureau of really nice rich warm colour and patina. In very good original order retaining the original handles, escutcheons and all but one of the original locks. The beautifully shaped front feet are original, the back two are later replacements. The interior has a few nice secret compartments and is enhanced with central door veneered in Mahogany and with inlaid star and fine black and white stringing. The little brass knobs to the interior drawer are also original and the fine linings made in Oak. The drawer linings to the two short and three long drawers are also all original and made in elm having extraordinary single board drawer bottoms. 
Back boards are all original and working keys are in place for the fall front and interior door. Circa 1755.
