This is an absolutely beautiful early 18th century Walnut chest of drawers of perfect small proportions and exceptional untouched colour. In very good original condition retaining the original the original brass handles that have developed the most wonderful patinated skin over the years. Having very fine feather banding and matched Walnut veneers throughout.
Of classic formation with finely made brushing slide that sits above two short and three long graduated drawers, standing on shaped bracket feet. The fine quadrant bead moulding to the top continues down the front corners to the base.
Drawer linings are original and well made in beach and Oak with mitred back edges. Of historical interest are the papers attached to the drawer linings, they appear to be from an insurance brokers office operating in the early part of the 19th century.
A fine and rare piece of english walnut in the kind of condition that's hard to find, a real collectors piece. Circa 1730.
